Squat Breathing

Begin in a low squatting position. Take a few breaths to feel for release in the pelvic floor and expansion in the lower back, and release a few sighs if it feels good.

Begin to explore an extended /ʃ/ sound as press the legs toward straight. Each low inhalation takes you back into the squat, where your lower back can expand, and each exhalation helps you expand into the space.

When you’re ready, add some voice on /ʒ/ and then on /ʒaʒa/.

When you’re finished, take a few moments to sense your breath and any shifts in your energy or alignment. Try to take this awareness with you into the next thing you do.
