Bounces & Shimmies

Stand upright, sensing moment by moment for a dynamic, active alignment in your bones.

Release the jaw, allowing it to hang loose as the lips part and the throat softens. Begin to bounce through the heels. Bounce some breath in, and bounce some breath out. Let it be messy.

If you sense that you’re controlling the breath, throw in a shimmy every now and then to disrupt your pattern. Perturb your system and let your breath respond!

After a few moments, allow some easy vibration to travel over the escaping breath. Resist gripping in the throat. Explore an easy range of pitches.

When you’re finished, take a few moments to sense your breath and any shifts in your energy or alignment. Try to take this awareness with you into the next thing you do.
